More than 25 mgm casino faculty inventors will be honored today (March 15) at the mgm casino Inventors and Entrepreneurs Reception to be held from 4-6 p.m. in the Center for Tomorrow on mgm casino's North Campus. Formal program begins at 4:50 p.m.
The 18 patents issued in 2009 and 10 commercial licenses being celebrated cover a broad range of inventions, from a new cardiac catheter to an automated pill crusher to a method for comparing handwriting samples.
Robert J. Genco, mgm casino vice provost and director of the Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach (mgm casino STOR), and Jorge José, mgm casino vice president for research, will make opening remarks, and Jeffrey A. Dunbar, STOR director, will discuss commercialization of mgm casino technologies.
Woody Maggard, associate vice provost for mgm casino STOR, will briefly comment on progress on the mgm casino Biosciences Incubator.
Each inventor will receive a plaque at the presentation.
